Meh, Monday.
I was still so exhausted when my alarm went off this morning. I snoozed it for a solid thirty minutes before dragging myself out of bed and putting on what I took off last night (still conveniently on the floor). I threw my hair in a ponytail, scraped together breakfast, and drove to work chugging coffee. Luckily it was super slow today, so I rested more than not.
But getting up from my chair for water/coffee/lunch was like relearning to walk. I am SO SORE. My hips in particular are KILLING me. Likely it’s because I run like a speed walker according to my brother who hilariously demonstrated for me during brunch yesterday.
Watch that and try not to laugh. Now imagine my brother doing that in front of everyone at breakfast.
So today is mega boring photographically.
Wait, let me say that again. That’s ME CROSSING THE FINISH LINE OF MY VERY FIRST HALF MARATHON!!! After an underwhelming debacle involving my bathtub and its utter lack of a plug (hell-O it’s a BATHtub! Where is the plug so I can take a BATH?), I returned to my couch to blog about this terrifically boring day with its utterly disappointing finish (now I’m cold and want a bath that much more) only to find my race pictures!!! So these are reproduced utterly without permission, but heck ya I’m buying them! I’ll look back on these when I’m 80 and either fat or wasting away, but likely decrepit, and relish in the strength of mind and body I possessed when 24 and immortal.
So, here’s the source. Thank you Brightroom Photography! According to the page, there are 106,000 tagged photos (can you IMAGINE how painstaking that must be???) and 34,000 “lost & found.” I’m so grateful I got one of me at the finish line!
I think this was at the 10K or 15K marker, and I remembered Caitlin’s tips and mugged for the camera on the bridge overhead. Love it.
So today wasn’t that boring, I suppose. I’m totally still on a runner’s high, and as long as I continue walking like a 90-year-old, I’ll likely still be reminiscing about the awesomeness that was yesterday.
Cheers! xoxo

Me scraping together breakfast = dry cereal because I have run out of milk
Pamela scraping together breakfast = artfully crafted breakfast burrito, the picture of which looks like it belongs in a cookbook…
Hah, well shucks, thanks.
I am so proud of you and Casey on the run. Keep up the good work. You do a great job with your writing also. Take care.
Thank you Teresa!!!
